On the evening of 29 July 2026, Pope Leo XIV led Canticle of Peace at Borgo Laudato Si' in Castel Gandolfo. It was organized by the Laudato Si' Higher Education Centre and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.
The event marked the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. Andrea Bocelli sang with the ABF Voices choir of 164 children and young people from the Holy Land, Uganda and Italy, aged eight to 19.
Religion News Service reported that some of the children came from Israel or Palestine, and that the event was held in the gardens of the papal summer residence.
At the end, children presented the Pope with gifts from their home countries, according to OSV News.
Organizers had also expected a group from Haiti, which PolicyNow's main article says could not travel because of instability. The Vatican press release listed Haiti among the participating countries.
